Family Reunion June 2011

This summer we had our first ever Gifford Family Reunion, right here in Brentwood. We did a variety of activities together, among them a tour of the USS Hornet, a trip to our favorite Tilden Park, and the always popular Brentwood farms fruit picking.

Here's my mom and dad sitting outside the "choo-choo buggy" (as Boston calls it) at Tilden Park.

And here they are again, with nearly all their grandchildren.

Here's a bunch of the clan enjoying a nice ride on the steam trains at Tilden.

Kaitlyn and Rachel were good sports with Boston and took him on a second round trip on the choo-choo buggies!

He was so excited to be riding on a real live choo-choo, one of his obsessions in life.

Here's Boston enjoying the scenery (and sweets) outside the Caroussel at Tilden.

Here, Kaitlyn, Rachel, and Alyssa are posing outside one of the many Brentwood farms just prior to picking our own fruit.

Boston is anxiously anticipating his turn inside to pick fruit.

Most of Boston's fruit did not make it into the bucket...

He went to town on the cherries. They were so good!

Here's a bunch of goof balls posing at the farm.

Here we are aboard the USS Hornet. Boston was a stink pot most of the time there.

Here's the grandkids posing, and of course, Boston is trying to break free!

This picture accurately portrays Boston's sentiments on being there... but at least he got to enjoy his choo-choos at Tilden afterward.

It was lots of fun to have everyone here at the same time. Between Nikki and John, and Mark and I, we all had a houseful... I think all the cousins particularly liked being able to get together all at once. Hopefully this was one of many reunions to come!
