Our Little Tank

I took Boston to the pediatrician today. He has had a little cough and has been very congested for a few days now, so I just wanted to make sure all was well and that he didn't have an ear infection or anything else. He was fine - he just has a little cold. But my little boy tanked out at 15 lbs 11 oz! I couldn't believe it (actually, I could...)! Anyway, we may be setting a new record here. Way to go, Boston!

I'm Ready For My Close-Up!

We took Boston to get his pictures taken yesterday. He was such a pill! But in his defense, he did just get his shots the day before, so he was probably still a little sore and not feeling so well from that. We ended up having to do it in two sessions because he was such a turd. He lasted for about five minutes the first time. Granted, he was all smiles and happy during the fifteen minute wait for our appointment. We had him in his Halloween costume (a dinosaur) all that time, and it was dang hot in there, so I'm sure that added to his agitation. But we did at least get a few cute shots of him this go-around.

Here's Boston sporting his dinosaur costume. He was good until she decided she wanted to try him on his belly. For a baby who is not-so-fond of tummy time, that was a bad idea. We need to work on that with him. He is too accustomed to being held. Can you say, spoiled!

Here's the full-body view. Shortly after this was taken, he started screaming and didn't want to calm down (he was getting hungry, too). So the photographer told us to take a break and go feed him and to come back later since she didn't have another appointment for a couple more hours.

When we came back about 45 minutes later, they told us they thought we weren't going to return (retards, they told me to take a break and feed him... how long do they think that takes?), so we had to wait (AGAIN) with a baby who has a very short attention span. He lasted a little longer this time, mostly because he was sleeping for a large part of it. But here's a few of the shots we were able to get.

Cute little yawn.

Almost a smile.

A little bit mad, but still cute.

Dozing off.

Completely out of it.

So even being a little turd (and having completely inept photographers), Boston's first photo shoot was a success. And a bonus, we got the CD of all his shots (70 or so pictures) and can print them and post them. Score!

The Best 70 Bucks I've Ever Spent

The other day we noticed that Boston was starting to track things with his eyes. He also loves to stare at lights around the house, so we decided it was time to get him a Little Einstein's interactive play gym. He absolutely loves it! I had no idea he would be so enthralled with it, or I would have done this a long time ago. He loves to watch the lights and listen to the music. He also swats at the toys hanging overhead, although I think that's just a reflex. He is so cute with it though. He coos and smiles at the twinkling lights.

Doesn't he just look mesmerized!

Here he is smiling at it. This was his first interaction with it the day we bought it (yesterday).

Here he is today after his doctor's appointment. I was in the middle of changing him (he peed all over his clothes when I changed his diaper) and the pharmacy that had me on hold finally picked up, so I had to put him down, mid-change, to talk to them. Makes me look pretty trashy, but what are you gonna do? Look at him stare...

This picture, I just love! Check him out... doesn't he look so chill just watching the lights?

And now he's all the way naked (I got the peed on shirt all the way off him finally) but still enthralled with the lights. Such a cutie!

And for the GRAND FINALE, here is video of Boston enjoying his new toy. If you can hear over my annoying voice, listen to him coo at it/me. I just LOVE this little boy! He is getting to be so much fun now! (Remember to mute the play list at the bottom of the page first so you can hear.)

My Little Chunka Man - 2 Month Well Check

I took Boston in for his 2 month well check today. He weighed in at 14 lb 8 oz (and that was naked, too) and was 23 1/4 inches tall! His weight and head circumference were 97th percentile, while his height was 50th... I cracked up at that. He is such a cute, sweet little baby. We just love our little chunk. Sadly, we had to get him vaccinated today as well. He got three shots and one oral - and he seemed to hate the oral even more than the shots. Probably because he got so used to needles at the hospital, poor kid.
Here he is right after his appointment. Doesn't look like the vaccinations phased him too much... he came right home and started cooing and smiling all morning, even though he missed his morning nap because of his appointment. Such a cute little boy! We just love him!

Random Cuteness

My little guy is so dang cute that we just have to take pictures of him all the time. Here he is sitting on Mark's lap - we were trying on some of his outfits to see if they fit yet. This one did not... But it still looks dang cute on him.

And I just love those little toes.

Here he is making a funny face. I love the looks he pulls.

Here I thought he was so cute in his little night gown and matching booties. It has a hat, too, but his head is too big for it. Just like his daddy...

Here's Boston with daddy, sporting some of his Halloween jammies.

I put this on him because it was frickin' freezing outside. I didn't know if it would fit him yet, but it did. I couldn't believe it...

And I think this is just way too sweet...

I just love this sweet little face.

And here he is asleep in his carseat. He kept arching his back around, so his hat kept covering his eyes, which would wake him up, and he would cry. So I ended up having to fold it up. He is the cutest little thing ever!

Bipolar Blessing Day

We had Boston's blessing today. It was definitely a bipolar day for Boston (see pictures below), but it was also kind of that way for us, too. We were happy to be blessing our little boy, but at the same time, we were sad that we had no family to share it with. At least we did have two of our good friends in our ward standing in the circle, Ryan and Sean. We were glad they were there, because it would have been a really sad little gathering had they not. But as for Boston, he really had his ups and downs today.
He started out the day pretty mellow. He slept in late, giving us plenty of time to get ready for the occasion. He fell asleep just before his usual eating time (which was about the same time we left for church) and slept all the way to church, up until about ten minutes before it was time to bless him. So for those ten minutes or so, he was not a happy little guy, but I knew I didn't have time to go feed him and make it back in time to bless him. He cried right up until it was time to bless him (including fussing as Mark walked him up to the stand). He, miraculously, did well during the blessing. Then when Mark handed him to me to go feed him afterward, we barely made it out the door before he started howling again. It was so funny because Jessica (who watches Boston everyday while I'm at school) said afterward that she had been praying for him to be good all morning, since she knows how he can get! Thanks for your prayers, Jessica! And thanks for taking care of our little guy even when he is a stinker.
Boston spent the rest of the day at church going back and forth between fussing, sleeping, and making the cutest smiley faces at us. He has since spent the rest of this night throwing fits. Hopefully he will be better by tomorrow. But I think a lot of his bipolarism today has to do with how gassy he is... I'll have to add beef stew to my list of things not to eat, I think.
So for the parade of bipolar emotions, here we go:
Mellow

So sweet and happy
(How cute is he draped in the blessing blanket Grandma Pierce made?!)

Not very pleased (don't you just love that little lip)

Happy and cute again

Getting ready to cry

Sweet and happy

And back to not very pleased
Bipolarism aside, we love our little boy so much and think he is the stinkin' cutest thing we've ever seen!
