Our Little Cow

Here's Boston in this cute little cow outfit, alongside his stuffed toy cow, that Jessica got him. How appropriate this outfit is for him - we probably should have had him wear it to his last doctor's visit. I love this look he gives all the time... as one of our friends captioned it on facebook, "Whatcha talkin' 'bout Willis?"

Such a cute boy!

Here I was able to capture another smile on camera! Yeah!

And this is somewhere in between a smile and a stretch. I just love this boy!

7 weeks old

Boston was seven weeks old last Thursday. We took him to another doctor's appointment - he had one at 5 weeks because he was having really bad colic. Of course, by the time we had his appointment, he was back to his sweet old self again (for the most part), and the pediatrician had me go off dairy. That really has helped (although it sucks for me). I also went off caffeine, and anyone who knows me well knows that this sucks WAY more than going off dairy. I really need my coke, but I haven't had any for about three weeks. It is worth it, though, to have Boston back to his normal self. So at his five weeks visit, he topped the scale at 11 lb 8 oz. We thought he was such a tank. This time, we took him for a visit at 7 weeks because I heard him wheezing. It really freaked me out, given how his life started, and because asthma runs in our family. So I took him in (I know the pediatrician probably already thinks I'm nuts) and everything was fine with his lungs. This time, he was 12 lb 14 oz! What a chubba bubba! I wouldn't have it any other way.
These are just some cute shots of Boston from Saturday. We took him shopping in Carmel, and he was AWESOME the entire time. The pictures are a little blurry, but we thought he was so cute in this outfit - he looks like a real ball player.

Here's Boston smiling. Finally a good one, caught on camera.

Another shot of our cute boy. You can't see very well, but his socks are little NIKE's.

One last shot of our cute boy! I just can't get enough of him. I am so sad I go back this Thursday, but at least he'll be 8 weeks old.

This baby is HUGE!!

OK, Boston is not even 7 weeks old yet, and I discovered today that he is already fitting into some of his 3-6 months clothing. This is nuts! I gave him his bath today and was going through his clothes to decide what to put on him. I took a look in the closet (which is where I have all the things that don't fit him yet) and noticed that some of the things looked about the same size as him. So I took one of them out and put it on him... Sure enough, it fit! 3-6 months at 6 1/2 weeks... This kid is huge!
Here he is all sprawled out in his big boy jammies. Even the socks are 3-6 months; although he has had really big feet and hands since day one.
Just another shot of our cute little (big) guy.
And here he is actually smiling. It has taken me this long to get him to do it on camera.
Just another testament to how big he is getting. I put him on his tummy - look how well he is holding himself up. He pushes off of his hands and looks left and right. I can't believe how fast he is growing!

...And Even Bigger

Here's our guy at 6 weeks. He is the cutest boy ever!

He actually does pretty well propped up on the boppy. We haven't found too many things he likes to do other than being held, but he seems to not mind this position too much. He likes it better than the swing, anyway.

I'm even cute when I yawn!

It does look like he is enjoying the boppy here - it lulled him off to sleep. What a sweet face, I love it!

These next two pictures are so funny, I think. I love his faces in them.

This one seriously cracks me up. Actually, it reminds me a lot of me when I was a baby. I used to make that face a lot (or at least the pictures I have say I did).
And these next two are just too precious...

What a cute, sweet little boy! We love him so much!

And Bigger...

Here's our little man at about 5 1/2 weeks. Look how fat his cheeks are!

I can't believe how big he is. That's a boppy pillow he's laying on, which are pretty good sized, and he's even bigger than it is.

There's those fat cheeks again! He's a little chunka man... he was 11 1/2 lbs at his 5 week visit, and he looks bigger and bigger everyday.

This outfit is a 3-monther. I can't believe it fits him already. I figured it would fit during late fall, but nope, it fits now. I also love this face! What a funny boy.

And this picture is for my mom, who loves to see Boston stretch. He had his little back all arched and pushed his little hands out as far as they would go. He also furrows his eyebrows when he stretches, which is the cutest thing in the world.
Here he is at night with his momma getting ready for bed. I guess he makes that face a lot... what a doll!

Getting Big

Boston is growing so dang fast. He's about 4 1/2 weeks in these pictures. After week four he really started taking off, and I think he looks different almost everyday.
I love this picture of Boston and Mark - you can tell how much daddy loves his little boy!
I love the look on Boston's face here - "How YOU doin!" He is so dang cute.
These next two pictures are some of my all time favorites... This is what Nikki and John (and now Mark and I) refer to as the "food coma," or as one of my friends captioned it on facebook, "Fed, fat, and happy."
Here's the extreme close up... too bad I had to disturb him to change his diaper right after this shot was taken. He looks so peaceful.

Call us Hoosiers!

It looks like Kristin and I will be here, in Indy, an additional three years. I was offered a position in the postdoctoral periodontal residency today and I accepted.

Our BIG little guy

OK, by popular demand, here are some more pics of Boston. He is getting HUGE! Sadly, his newborn size clothes no longer fit him (and they were so big on him when he was brand new) - he is now officially in 0-3 months. It's so sad how quick they grow.
Here's Boston about a week ago. This was the first real outfit that fit him (and no, we didn't keep him uncovered in his crib, it was just for the picture). He still looks pretty tiny there, but that was a milestone for him...
I remember thinking it would be forever before this fit him. I put him in it when he was brand new just to see, and it was ridiculously huge. Now he can be a true Red Sox fan...

Here's my cute little baby in his swing. He doesn't like it nearly as much now that we've discovered his vibrating rocker, which he really loves.

Here's another "I love baths" shot. You gotta love the face (and the kicking legs)!

Here are the most recent pics of our little man. He is so dang cute! And I can't believe how big he is. This outfit (jammies, really) just started fitting him last Saturday, and he is already getting a bit too long for it. With how much he stretches, though, it's not a surprise that he's getting so tall.

And I finally learned how to swaddle (or burrito wrap, as some call it) properly with blankets. I had been using sleep sacks with wearable blankets. But Nikki came out this week and helped show me the ropes...

Such a cute boy!

I just love his little face!

Here's Boston in his new favorite position. In his rocker, with the vibrator on, and properly swaddled. He is so funny, because you can actually get him to fall asleep just by placing him in the rocker. He's starting to phase out right now... But if he's not dead asleep, the moment the vibrator turns off, he wakes himself up. If you turn it back on, though, he'll fall back asleep. Some nights I have awaken about every ten minutes just to turn the vibrator back on so we can both get some sleep... What a stinker! At least he knows what he likes though...
So there, Catherine, no more complaints about not enough pictures!
